The Resinosa Ensemble is a chamber trio formed in 2016 featuring Joëlle Morris, mezzo-soprano; Bridget Convey, piano; and Eliza Meyer, cello. This ensemble came together out of a love for performing chamber music, working with living composers, and offering music slightly off the beaten path.
The Resinosa Ensemble has appeared in numerous chamber music series, including Colby College, Bates College, Bowdoin College, Eastport Arts Center, University of Southern Maine, University of Maine at Augusta, the concert series at UUCC of Augusta, First Fridays at First Parish, and the Back Cove Contemporary Music Festival in Portland, Maine.
For their 2023 season, the Resinosa Ensemble will be presenting their program The Taste of Something New: music composed by American women. The program features trios by two Maine-based composers, Beth Wiemann and Marianna Filippi, as well as compositions by Mable Bailey, Zenobia Powell Perry and Libby Larsen.

Le compositeur Camille Saint-Saëns déclarait à son propos qu’elle était « une fille de l’opéra-comique ayant mal tourné, mais les filles qui tournent mal ne sont pas toujours sans agrément ». C’est en effet des célèbres opéras bouffes de Jacques Offenbach (La Belle Hélène, La Périchole, La Vie parisienne…) qu’est née l’opérette, ce genre lyrique si caractéristique de la Belle Époque. À son tour, elle engendrera la comédie musicale américaine dont le succès ne s’est pas démenti depuis le début du XXe siècle.
Made in Maine: Reflections in Song features carefully chosen songs from the Resinosa Ensemble commissioned premieres: selections from Daniel Sonenberg’s six song cycle Beauty is Not Enough, with text by Edna St. Vincent Millay; selections from John Newell’s Night Songs with poems by Sara Teasdale; the final movement of Nancy Gunn’s Spiresongs, poems by Elizabeth Spires; and selections from Richard Nelson’s A Forest of Glass, a Kaleidoscope, a Dream, featuring poems by Ellen Taylor
