Bowdoin College Concert Series

Prelude to a Dream

Resinosa Ensemble

Studzinski Recital Hall

Bowdoin College, Brunswick, ME

Resinosa Ensemble

Following Resinosa’s acclaimed debut season in 2016,  the trio is delving into the music of dreams, featuring Maine composer John Newell, Boston-based composer Scott Wheeler and American composer Paul Rudoi.  Brahm’s alto songs for mezzo, piano & cello and selections by Leonard Bernstein and Czech composer Bohuslav Jan Martinů round out the program.
The Resinosa Ensemble is a recently formed chamber trio featuring Joëlle Morris, Mezzo-Soprano, Eliza Meyer, cello and Bridget Convey, piano. This ensemble came together out of a love to perform chamber music, working with contemporary composers, and generally offering music slightly off the beaten path. Resinosa’s debut season in 2016 explored works of women composers, spanning 900 years featuring works of wildly different styles going from Hildegard Von Bingen to Libby Larsen.

With an affinity for contemporary music, Resinosa regularly features new works by Maine composers Vineet Shende, John Newell, Rick Nelson, Dan Sonenberg, and Beth Wiemann as well as Boston-based composer Scott Wheeler and Josh Jandreau. The Resinosa Ensemble has performed at Colby College, Bates College, the UUCC music series and the Black Cove Contemporary Music Festival at the Portland Conservatory.
